Not so welcome.
Agreed that the original one i.e. Welcome was a slapstick comedy. But somehow, it clicked due to a good cocktail of silliness and gags plus the casting combination including Akshay.
But this sequel lands nowhere close.
Of Course… no plot… we weren’t expecting it anyways… but what fails miserably here is the jagged narrative and lack of gags. The casting combo too is nothing too great. The trio, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar are the saving grace but John Abraham and incredibly bad Shruti Hassan leave no stone unturned to fail their efforts.
The film does have a share of laughs, dialogues etc in bits and pieces but you long for more.
On the whole, its senseless and light. Cute and silly. But leaves a lot wanting even as a slapstick comedy.
Looks like a dry spell… Phantom, now this one and a not so interesting Hero next week… wonder when we get a real good one to watch.
