I think this a perfect start to the year.

The movie is captivating right from the first scene and never loses its grip on you right till the end.

It’s a roller coaster of emotions, suspense and thrill and it has ticks on all the possible parameters.

The script is the first star of the movie apart from Amitabh and Farhan of course. It is well written, tight, engrossing and simply superb… comprising of great dialogues (By Abhijeet Deshpande , crisp editing and fast pace. Vidhu Chopra and Abhijat Joshi have done a great job at writing and editing.

Lot of interesting metaphors have used to drive home similarities between life and game of chess.

The music is melodious and great. Each song by a different music director has a different feel to it and plays a perfect background to the emotional upheaval and ensures that one is moist eyed.

The two main characters brought together by similar tragedies are so well written and backed up by superb befitting performances. It’s a pleasure to watch Amitabh and Farhan.

Manav Kaul deserves a mention as well. I could remember him from his noticeable performance in City Lights but woke up to his name with this movie. He’s done a great job and stands out in his very first scene.

Except for minor flaws in joining the dots, I think it was a great blend and a solid plot backed up by a good script and great performances.
