I am sure most of you have read the reactions and feedbacks… not that it actually matters in case of a Salman movie. His fans would watch it any which ways… and the family audience get to watch a good clean movie on a festive weekend. But for the minuscule rest who want to know what it’s actually like… here it goes.
The sets are grand… palaces et all… the costumes beautiful and colourful and to watch out for. Sonam looks very pretty and Salman is Salman anyways. As a special treat for his fans, he’s looking awesome in both his roles. 1-2 songs are quite hummable.
On the whole it’s a clean masala entertainer though a little different from the typical Rajshri affair.
But I wish the sub plots and the detailing were a little more credible , the editing and screenplay a little more tighter, the music a little more than average and that the Salman humour wasn’t overshadowed by the heavy melodrama. The wish list is long but it would have been better off with lesser songs and the movie duration.
We were quite mentally prepared for the sugar coated melodrama (patented Rajshri style) but expected it to be even better off with royal backdrop and good music and all that… different from the shaadi sequence thing… but somehow… it failed to create that charisma as expected. Sooraj Barjatya tried to break away from the mould but missed it somehow. It was still a welcome change from the mami chachi bua and samdhi saga.
Nevertheless… tips for non-Salman fans… if you aren’t too choosy and the weekend is free … you can go for this one! Wouldn’t kill you !
