It’s a contemporary family drama based on a dysfunctional uber rich family ,but a drama with a touch of class in Zoya Akhtar style . Honestly , in terms of substance and story , it’s not as great as her earlier works like Luck By Chance or ZNMD. Nevertheless this one is light , breezy and entertaining.
For me , the treat was the interesting and apt cast and performances .Right from stellar ones like Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah to rare ones like Rahul Bose and Divya Seth .
Ranveer stands out with his underplayed performance .Priyanka is great too . The ensemble cast is equally interesting. One liners written by Farhan Akhtar add zing .
Zoya Akhtar’s forte has always been portraying emotions and relationships well . The high point of this one is that fallacies and incompetence of relationships is blended with such humour that you see it without feeling too heavy .
I think it was totally worth the wait .
