This soft romantic drama is poetic and philosophical in feel and achingly beautiful to look at, in half of its frames.
Its pace is languorous but breezy.
Its romance has slow old world charm.
Its characters are warm ,loveable and their dilemmas feel real.
Its dialogues implore you to pause and think.
This series is like a breeze of fresh air amongst the clutter of “ so called” “contemporary” love stories sold to us as the current generation thing.
It shows us that the hero doesn’t need to be an alpha male to look desirable.
It makes us believe that there is still a world where the boy and girl do not necessarily thrive on a “bar to bedroom”scenario. I don’t intend a judgemental tone to this but the current content on OTT and cinema definitely mean to imply that as the most prevalent way.

The story revolves around three characters. Sudha , lawyer by profession, is a girl with irresistible charm, clarity of thoughts and uncompromisable high ambition.Chandar , with a corporate job, is gentle generous boy who dreams of starting a niche Cafe in the mountains , but prioritises love above his aspirations. Preeti is a traveller and blogger who meets Chander and not only helps him fulfil his dreams but also merges hers with his.
In this beautifully directed adaptation ,their dreams and aspirations brings them to crossroads with love.The story takes us through their journey of dilemma ,insecurity, heartbreak and evolution.Their story pans out in two threads, in two different timelines, intertwined to give an interesting narrative that creates mild suspense.
The dialogues deserve accolades for giving it the poetic and philosophical mood. They are relatable and profound.The hill station and the life around the cafe looks dreamy and inviting.
Veduka Pinto carries away our heart for giving us the adorable Sudha ,with her effortless performance ,naughty smile and irresistible charm.
Vikrant Massey wins us over with another commendable performance.His sheer range of expressions, that make Chandar so real and so adorable ,is a pleasure to watch. It reminded me of his recent negative role in Pritam and Pedro and of the fact that man is an amazing actor.
Mahima gets the smallest role but is great.
The entire support cast lends heft. A special biased mention for Adil Hussain and Anubha ( the adorable mom from “Teri baaton mei aisa uljha jiya“) .
Slight spoiler here –
The only grouse that I have from the story is the last twist. It was a bit heartbreaking and felt unethical on part of the two characters who I felt overstepped the faith of the third.
