This romantic comedy revolves around a couple, madly in love, who thought they knew everything about each other, until they had to exchange their phones with each other for 24 hrs! And obviously hell breaks lose.
The film is a remake of Tamil film “Love Today” and deals with trust issues in new age romances. What makes things more complicated in this era, is the technology ( a double edged sword) ,the plethora of options and several grades of relationships around a person. The film weaves the challenges well in the humorous story while delivering a soft and well meant message .
I have seen the original film and I must day that Advait Chandan has done great job with the remake. The Delhiite touch, the dialect, the slang ,the life style gives the film a fresh customised touch. The dialogues are hilarious and add to the situational humour.
Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor play Gucci and Baani who had to fulfil a condition stipulated by Baani’s “no nonsense” , “ Lie Detector” , “Sanskrit speaking” dad played by Ashutosh Rana. Grusha Kapoor plays stereotypical but cute Punjabi mom.
I loved both parent actors and their performances.
Kiku Sharda , Tanvika Parlikar and Devishi Madaan play the family and add support.
Let me be honest. I had pretty low expectations but enjoyed Khushi’s performance.
Junaid on the other hand was disappointing and left much to be asked for .
Totally agree with Baani’s dialogue to Gucci “Tum se better toh Cuchipoo thha “
By the way Cuchipoo, Baani’s ex boyfriend played by dashing Bhavaya Chawla is someone I would love to see more of.
Overall ,I thoroughly enjoyed the film.
It is well paced, well edited, has an interesting story line and keeps you entertained and chuckling.
